Which company is paying its CEO to be more effective at managing its costs?

Microsoft, for example, is paying Microsoft’s former chief financial officer and head of research and development to spend more time on corporate social responsibility and to push for more data security measures.
In the case of Jeff Barr, the Microsoft exec is being paid to be a “transformational force for good.”
The CEO and CFO have also been given a “performance bonus” of $12.5 million, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The company has already been forced to pay a $13.7 million penalty for misreporting a $9.7 billion loss in revenue last year.
Microsoft has not yet responded to The Verge’s request for comment.
